University of London LLM Scholarships


These scholarships allow individuals to study for the Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, and/or the Master of Laws (LLM) by distance learning, at the University of London. Applicants can start at any level, and do not need to complete the whole program. For example, applicants can start at the Postgraduate Certificate level and work their way through to the LLM, or can stop after completing the PG Certificate. Applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree may start at LLM level, skipping the PG Certificate and Diploma.

How did afrobeats start?

How did afrobeats (now mostly referred to as afrobeat) start? Is a question we get asked a lot. Right after, "Where can I get Afrobeat music?" 

You will be glad to know that this music genre has its roots in West Africa. And is a mix of sounds (funk, jazz etc) and languages from West Africa and the African diaspora. 

The start or rise of Afrobeats can not be talked about without the musical force that is/was Fela Kuti. Fela Kuti can be said to be one of the most famous voices of this genre. His music was the popular sound out of Nigeria in the 1970s. He used his music to address the political and social-economic challenges of his native Nigeria
